Alfred R. Litwitz, age 77, of Hayward, WI died Monday, April 9, 2018 at Miller Dwan Hospital in Duluth, MN.

Alfred R. Litwitz was born in Chicago, IL the son of Alfred and Mary Litwitz. He moved with his family from Chicago to Hayward when he was a young boy. The family owned and operated Rod & Rifle Resort on Nelson Lake for many years. Al later worked at the original Holiday gas station in Hayward for many years. He loved fishing and hunting and going on his fishing trips to Canada and Minnesota. Al deeply enjoyed his family get togethers.

He is survived by his wife Estelle; son Alfred; daughters Anita (James) and Cindy; grandson Matthew; and brother Edward (Louann).

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Mass was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward. Father Gerard Willger officiated with music provided by Kathy Naylor and St. Joseph Catholic Church Choir. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward. Visitation was held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. prior to mass at the  church.
