Bernice M. Dennis, age 69 of LCO, died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN

Bernice Marie was born January 29, 1943 in Hayward, WI the daughter of David and Irene (Corbine) Dennis. She graduated from Hayward High School in 1961. After school she worked LCO Shelton Basket Factory, LCO Ammunition Box Factory and LCO Omni Lab. In 1969 she attended WITC in Ashland for cooking. In January of 1970 Bernice started working for LCO Head Start where she was currently employed working as Transportation Director, and was recently named as Employee of the Quarter in 2011.

She is survived by her brother Ronald (Linda) Carley; many nephews and nieces.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; brother William Carley; sisters Geraldine Brogan, Eunice and Barbara Dennis; nieces Margaret Dennis, Sarah Wolfe; nephews Bruce Dennis, Richard J. Miller Jr.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission in Reserve. Father Gregory Hopefl will officiate with music provided by Sister Felissa Zander, Liza Diamond and Louis Taylor Jr. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward, with a scripture service at 6:30 p.m.

Honorary casket bearers will be Glenda Barber, Brenda Bisonette, Anita Carley, Selma Corbine, Jerome Cross, Brooke Dennis, James "Sunder" Dennis, Jimmy Lee Dennis, Kim Dennis, Renee Isham, Roger "Tinker" Mustache, Chris Rusk, Crissy Schmock-Wade, Joe Taylor, Matthew Taylor and Michelle Wilson.

Casket bearers will be Max Dennis, Tony Dennis, Brian Diamond, Junior Diamond, Mike LaPointe and William LaPointe.
