BETTY MAE FRANCES LaBATTE
Betty Mae F. LaBatte, age 74 of Chicago, formerly of Whitefish, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Kindred Central Hospital in Chicago, IL.
Betty Mae Frances was born May 14, 1937 in Holcombe, WI the daughter of Frank LaRush and Hannah Hopkins. She was raised by William & Josephine Grover in Whitefish and graduated from Hayward High School. Betty Mae moved to Chicago at age 18 and worked as a cook for St. Andrews Church. She was united in marriage to Calvin LaBatte on July 27, 1957 in Chicago.
She is survived by her children Jeff (Debbie) LaBatte, Carolyn (Mike) LaBatte-Leavitt, Michelle (Carlos) LaBatte-Nunez; grandchildren Javier Llera, Jeffrey LaBatte, Noah LaBatte, Andrea Nunez, Bianca Nunez; sisters Mildred (Ed) Creed, Betty Jane Martin, Muriel (John) Kagigebi; nephews, nieces and cousin.
Betty Mae was preceded in death by her parents William & Josephine Grover and Frank LaRush & Hannah Hopkins; son Brian LaBatte, brothers Richard LaRush, Sherman LaRush, Laverne "Sonny" Grover and sister Eula Ford.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Rev. Marvin Wilber will officiate with music provided by Marvin & Deborah Wilber, LaVonne Diamond and John Quaderer. Burial will be in Whitefish Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30 at the funeral home.
Honorary casket bearers will be Clifford "Skip" Churchill, Douglas Kagigebi, Santino Pacheco and Joe Silva.
