Bruce R. Diamond, age 80, of LCO, died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Waters Edge Care Center in Hayward.
Bruce Robert Diamond was born August 20, 1936 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Benjamin and Grace (Johnson) Diamond. He grew up on the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation attending school in Whitefish and graduating from Haskell Indian Boarding School. Bruce spent 20 years working at Union Special, a machine shop in Chicago. He was united in marriage to LaVonne in 1976. They moved back to LCO in 1978 where Bruce worked for LCO Development for 18 years. He was known as a gentle giant and had a heart of gold. Bruce had a great sense of humor and loved to watch the weather channel. He touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.
He is survived his wife LaVonne; daughter Stephanie "Taffy" (James) Diamond-Current; son Bruce Robin Diamond; step-sons James Mathis, David, Keith and Raymond Guschausky; grandchildren Georgia Diamond, Benjamin Diamond; honorary grandchildren Jazlyn Martin, Kaden Martin, Bishop Von Martin; brother Gerald Diamond; niece Deanna Barret.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin & Grace; grandson Bruce Charles Diamond Jr; nephew Zeke Diamond.
A Celebration of Life was held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday March 30, 2017 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward.
Honorary Bearers were LCO Development Truck Drivers.
