Charles F. Nickence, age 82 of New Post, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN.
Charles "Charley" Francis was born on June 10, 1929 in New Post, WI, the son of Mitchell and Julia (Coon) Nickence.
He is survived by his nephew and nieces Lillian, Iva, Julienne, Louis, Butch, Betty, Ester, Bonnie, Wavern, Adrian, Gretchen, Brian, Wilbur, Richard, Ada, Phillip, Bernadette, Rose Ann, Valerie and Michelle.
Charley was preceded in death by parents; brothers Patrick, Henry, John, Joseph, August and Mahlon; sisters Nellie, Grace, Cecelia and Violet; life partner Louise O'Shogay.
Tribal Funeral Rites will be held beginning with a feast at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, at New Post Senior Center. Skip Churchill officiated. Burial will be in New Post Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2 at the Senior Center.
Honorary casket bearers will be Barry Hollen, Clyde Miller, Richard Miller, Tracy Miller, Whitney Miller, Wilbur Miller, Adrian Nickence, Michelle Nickence and Thomas Smith Jr.
Casket bearers were will be Larry Bunker, Ryan Bunker, Al Miller, Burleigh Miller Jr., LeRoy Miller, Mark Tainter and Tom Tainter.
Pineview Funeral Service is assisting Charley's family with the arrangements.
