Christine E. Thayer, age 84, of LCO, died Friday, July 5, 2013 at her home.
Christine Exilda Thayer was born in Hayward, WI on December 13, 1928, the daughter of George and Josephine (Chaurette) Coon. She attended school in Couderay and Haskell Indian School, then attended LCO Community College. Christine was united in marriage to LaVerne Grover in Hayward who proceded her in death, she was later married to Charles E. Thayer. Christine worked as a cook for LCO Schools and LCO Elderly Center in Reserve for many years She enjoyed gardening, ricing and berry picking.
She is survived by her sons Daniel "Boone" Grover, Gerald "Wink" Thayer, Thomas Thayer, George Thayer; daughters Marilyn Reyes, Katherine Crone, Susan Vega, Elaine Saltz, Marcia Yanez; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; nephews & nieces.
Christine is preceded in death by her parents George & Josephine, brothers brothers George "Zaakwaan" Coon, John "Tidience" Coon; sister Myrtle DeMarr.
The Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 10 at LCO Assembly of God Church in Signor with Pastor Marvin Wilber will officiate. Marvin & Deborah Wilber will be providing music. Burial will be in Signor Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9 at the church, and again from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Wednesday.
Honorary casket bearers will be Robin Bildeau Sr., Chaska Carrillo, Elijah Carrillo, Chris Grover, Forrest Grover, Gway, Dot Matrious, Caleb Miller, Preston Miller, John Pete, Robert Saltz, Angelita Stevens, Adam Thayer Sr., Anthony Thayer, Sheldon Thayer, Adolfo Vega Jr., Felix Yanez Sr. and Felix Yanez Jr.
Casket bearers are Cheyenne Coon, Doug Coon, Justin Coon, Doug Fleming, Louie Fleming, Tim Stevens, Vincent Stevens and Steven Trott.
