Clarice E. Lane, age 71 of Oregon, formerly of Milwaukee and Lac Courte Oreilles, passed away on July 31, 2019 at her residence.

Clarice Elizabeth Lane was born December 9, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of Clarence Sr. and Lucille (Karns) Lane. She was united in marriage with James Schlender in 1969, they later divorced in 1984. They had five children.

Clarice returned to school after she had her children, completing high school in 1979 at the Lac Courte Oreilles High School. Later she would graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Mont Scenario College.  She made her career serving as a security professional in various levels of management in the greater Madison and Milwaukee area. While serving as a security officer in Milwaukee at the Potawatomi Bingo and Casino, she performed CPR on a customer and saved a person's life. She was always proud of that moment, she was featured in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for her courageous act.

She will be remembered for her laugh and her stories.

She is survived by her sons James Schlender Jr., Justin Schlender, Jason (Alana) Schlender; daughter Jenny Schlender; grandchildren Destiny, Jayda, Aandeg; great grandson Roman; sisters Charlotte, Candy, Michelle; brother Carl; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Clarice was preceded in death by her infant daughter; her parents Clarence Sr. and Lucille; and brother Clarence "Goober" Lane Jr.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 12:00 noon – 3:00 p.m, at the Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward.
