Constance "Connie" Corbine., age 76, of Lac Courte Oreilles died Monday, December 16, 2019 at her home.

Constance Lorraine Tainter was born January 29, 1943 in Hayward, WI the daughter of Lawrence and Marie (Germaine) Tainter. Memories of Connie will remain in the minds of people she affected a lot. What a wonderful woman she was, always gave when someone needed help, willing with open arms to have people come to stay at her home when they didn't have a place to go. So many lives have been touched by Connie's presence and conversations. She was one of the friendliest, kindest persons anyone could meet. Connie loved her husband Johnny and family very much. Connie had worked as a CNA at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital for several years, LCO Housing for five years and was on the LCO Tribal Governing Board for 16 years, the longest ever on Tribal Council. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, cribbage and poker. Connie will be missed dearly by her husband John, the love of her life, family and friends.

She is survived by her husband John; sons William Swehla, Herbert Clause, Gary Clause William Carley and James Wolfe; daughter Candice (Marvin) Wilber; 20 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; brother Gary Tainter; sister Marilyn Marlenee; many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Marie; brothers Larry "Buck" Tainter, Albert Tainter; sisters Doris Tainter, Joanne Kagigebi, Darlene Cornwell; and son-in-law John LaFontaine.

Tribal Funeral Rites were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Bobby Williams officiated. Burial was in New Post Cemetery. Visitation began at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 18 ^th at the funeral home.

Honorary casket bearers were Deanna Baker, Donald Bildeau Jr., Steven Clause, Thomas Corbine, Oliver DeMarr, Wilbur "Teed" Miller, Dean O'Shogay, Audrie Potack, Donald "Ducky" Potack, Jeramie LaRush, Jeff St. Germaine and Dylan Swehla.

Casket bearers were Keith Clause, Mike DeMain, A.J. Ferguson, Nenaangebi "Nay-Nay" Gokey, James LaSieur and Anthony St. Germaine.
