Daniel E. "Pops" Skweres, age 71, of Marblehead, OH, formerly of Hayward, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center after a brief illness.

Dan was born May 2, 1944 in Chicago, IL the son of Harry and Mary Skweres. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Dan was a self-employed entrepreneur and in his spare time, he enjoyed playing Keno, socializing with his friends, sitting outdoors and spending time with his family. Dan was an all-around fun guy.

He is survived by his daughters April Skweres and Barbara (Phillip) Martin both of Hayward; sons John (Marla) of Sandusky, OH, Joe (Debbie), Bob (Sondie) Skweres both of Hayward, Dan (Donna) Jr. of Alpharatta, GA; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers Ray, Gene (Pat), Ronnie and Tom (Cheryl) Skweres; sister-in-law Georgina "Ginger" (wife of Steve); and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; brother Steve Skweres; sister-in-law Nancy Skweres (wife of Ron).

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward.
