Dennis Wayne Harnden, age 71, of Hayward, WI, died Saturday, August 4, 2018 at his home, surrounded by family.

Dennis was born May 28, 1947, in Hayward, WI, the son of Ernest and Mary (Dwyer) Harnden and a member of Lac Courte Oreilles Tribe. He attended school in Hayward and graduated from Hayward High School. Dennis was united in marriage to Sylvia Hoyt on November 29, 1968.

Dennis had many passions: music, photography, nature, and reading, with his love of family superseding all. He will be remembered for his deep compassion for others, and his liberal political zeal; often paired with a brilliant wit.

Dennis was a creative entrepreneur. His love of the arts and nature drove his business endeavors; which ranged from photography, to sustainable forestry, to providing fresh Lake Superior trout to 5-star restaurants, and many more. He followed his dreams and helped so many along the way.

He is survived by his wife Sylvia; daughters Marjorie Cameron, Mary (Dwayne) Carson, Erin (Richard) Harrington & Amy (Jeffrey) Sexauer; six grandchildren; sisters Rosalie Bender & Jacqueline (Elmer) Corbine.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Ernest W. & Mary; brothers Ernest A. Harnden & Warren Harnden; sisters Leone Dierking & JoAnne Lawfer.

A celebration of life will be held at the Sawmill Saloon located in Seeley, north of Hayward on Hwy 63, on Saturday, August 11 ^th from 11:30 am until 2:00pm.
