Diane Sebek, age 56 of Hayward, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at Waters Edge Care Center in Hayward.
Diane was born on March 11, 1956 in Burlington, WI, the daughter of George Ross Jr. & Bonnie (Biller) Welsch. Diane battled cancer for much of her life. However, the cancer did not define her; her love of life defined her. She was determined to live in order to help others. Diane cared for others, especially those overlooked. She was passionate helping her sons learn and grow. Together they joined others in Special Olympics, Easter Seals Camp, We-Can Camp and more. She had many other interests and even more friends.
She is survived by her husband David Sebek; sons Daniel, Forest "Woody" & Sam Sebek; mother Bonnie (Dick) Welsch; brothers Ken Ross, Dan (Phyllis) Ross, Richard "Dick" (Teri) Welsch Jr; sister Laura (Larry) Sova; several nephews, nieces & cousins.
Diane was preceded in death by her father George Ross Jr.; brother George "Butch" Ross III; maternal grandparents Grandma Emma Cooper & Grandpa Norman Biller.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Hayward United Methodist Church in Hayward. Pastor Daniel Fahs will officiate with music provided by Jan Erickson & Brenda Vukovich. Burial will be in Draper Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11 at the church and again from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Honorary bearers will be Linda Asp, Dr. Keith Bible, Chris Mayou, Kelly Ruid, Tom Sebek & Dr. Saad Sirop.
Casket bearers will be Norm Cooper, Mike Klawiter, Dan Paullin, David Ross, Jonas Sova & Richard "Bubbie" Welsch.
