Donald J. Lang, age 75, of Hayward, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Donald John Lang was born March 25, 1941in New Leipzig, ND, the son of Frederick and Caroline (Heupel) Lang. After high school he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958-1961 and was stationed both stateside and in England. Don was united in marriage to Janice Mullally on June 26, 1965 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward. He owned and operated his own construction company for a number of years in South Dakota and also worked at Hub City Iron in Aberdeen, SD and Presto in Chippewa Fall, WI. Don was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and express a deepening of his faith through participating in Adoration activities. Don and Janice resided in Hayward for the last 30 years.

He is survived by his wife Janice; daughters Elizabeth Lang, Laura (Kelly) Halverson, Amie (Michael) Graebner; grandchildren Evan Halverson, Christina Graebner; siblings Erna Pleinis, Leo Lang, Mae Pleinis, Judy Hale, Linda Lang; many nephews and nieces.

Don was preceded by his parents; siblings Lorretta Fisher, Lillian Olson, Ellen Fisher, Mildren Pleinis and Leonard Lang.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward with Father Gerard Willger officiating. Music was provided by Kathy Naylor, St. Joseph Church Choir and Michael Graebner. Burial was in Northern Wisconsin Veteran Memorial Cemetery with military honors accorded by State of Wisconsin Military Honors Team. Visitation was held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

Casket bearers will be Gary Adams, Mike Graebner, Evan Halverson, Kelly Halverson, Lee Scull and Jamie Stone.
