Obituary

Dorothy M. Shuey, age 76, of Stone Lake, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Care Partners in Hayward.

Dorothy Mae was born in Freeport, IL on July 27, 1936, the daughter of Clarence and Hannah (Williams) Van Rault. She was united in marriage to Charles Oppold and had five children. She is survived by Bob (Martha), Charles, Jeanne (Ken) Shuey, Ken (Betsy) and Carl whom preceded her in death as did her husband Charles Oppold. Then she was united in marriage to James Shuey whom had five children. – Tom (Vicki), Dave (Lou), Kathy (Bob) Lamm, Ken (Jeanne) and Tim. James preceded her in death. They continued to raise a family of ten and then had a new addition Anna totaling eleven, yours, mine and ours. Dorothy lived a full life enjoying her favorite hobbies – sewing, crocheting and especially gardening and her flowers. She drove school bus many years until many of her children left the nest and in 1977 the family moved to the Hayward area. Dorothy continued to raise a family and adding 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She enjoyed the beauty of the area and her music, dancing and the many friends she met along the way. Dorothy will be missed by all.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 28 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward, with a Memorial Service held at 2:30 p.m. Tim Hagberg will officiate with music provided by Annette Hagberg. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Stone Lake.
