Douglas S. Thake, age 72, of Hayward, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.
Douglas Stephen Thake was born February 7, 1943 in Sheboygan, WI, the son of Clifford and Grace (Duffy) Thake. He grew up and graduated from Hayward High School. After graduating Butch enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1962 and served until 1965. After the military he moved back to Hayward where he worked for several years at Louisiana Pacific. Butch enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son Shawn Thake of Wausau; daughter Sheila Love of Wausau, Christine (Ryan) Fredericks of Drummond, Amanda (Rey) Taylor and Sandra Blevins both of Hayward; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers Bill Thake of Hayward, Robert Thake of Chicago; nephews & nieces.
Doug was preceded by his parents; two brothers and one sister.
The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward with Rev. Timothy Warner officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward with Military Honors accorded by Hayward Veterans Council. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon prior to the service at the funeral Home.
Casket bearers will be Ray Aguilera, Ethan Bean, Pat Bean, Thomas Bean, Matthew Love and Rey Taylor.
