Emil W. Hoenighausen, 95, of Hayward, died Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Water's Edge Care Center in Hayward.

Emil William Hoenighausen was born on February 21, 1923 in Augermund, Germany, the son of Johann and Angela (Sprenzyna) Hoenighausen. He was raised in Germany, and married his wife, Marga, on June 7, 1947. They later gave birth to their only child, Ute, also in Hookenen, Germany. Together they all moved to America in 1953.

After settling in Chicago and later in Villa Park, IL, they retired and moved to Chippewa Falls, WI. In the summer of 2014, they moved to Hayward and became residents of Water's Edge Care Center.

He is survived by her loving daughter Ute (August) Boehm; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren; sister Sophie Walner; brother Leo Hoenighausen.

Emil was preceded in death by his wife Marga in 2015; parents Johann & Angela; and brother Hans Hoenighausen.

A Memorial Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 20 ^th at Water's Edge Care Center Chapel with Rev. Brian Poole and Rev. James Walsh officiating. Visitation was held from 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at Water's Edge. Burial will be in Spider Lake Cemetery at a later date.
