Esther W. Gordon, age 95, of Exeland, WI passed Monday, April 8, 2019 at Ladysmith Care Community.

Esther Waite Milner was born July 1, 1923 at her log home on the banks of the Chippewa River near Exeland. She was the youngest of 12 children of William & Anne (Waite) Milner. Esther was the great great granddaughter of Charles Belille on her mother's side. Charles was the first white settler in what is now Sawyer County. Esther attended Reppert School and on October 4, 1941 was united in marriage to Cyrus Norman Gordon. They resided in Exeland for most of their married life, where they raised their eight children. Esther will always be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters Judy (Bob) Pouilly & Jane (George) Dantzman; sons Dennis (Jeanie) Gordon, Gary (Lynda) Gordon, Patrick (Renata) Gordon, James (Mary Jo) Gordon, Thomas (Deanna) Gordon and William Gordon; 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; numerous step-grand & great grandchildren.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents William & Anne; husband Cyrus in August 1989; 11 brothers & sisters William, Lawrence, Amos, Charles, Clarence, James, Sally, Annie, Sofie, Grace and Mary.

The Funeral Service was held at 12:00 noon, Friday, April 12, 2019 at Exeland First United Methodist Church. Pastor Mark Bartlett Sr. officiated with music provided by Emily and Laura Korman. Burial was in Windfall Cemetery in Exeland. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon prior to the service at the church.

Casket bearers were George Dantzman, Dennis Gordon, Gary Gordon, James Gordon, Patrick Gordon, Thomas Gordon, William Gordon and Robert Pouilly.
