Eugene R. Butler, age 67, of Lac Courte Oreilles, WI died Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN.

Eugene Richard Butler was born July 20, 1951 in Hayward, WI the son of Richard Gougé and Hazel Butler. He attended LCO School and then received at Culinary Arts degree from WITC. Eugene moved to St. Paul where he lived and worked as a butcher for "a little bit der", and then returned to LCO working with LCO Housing. Eugene moved to Eau Claire working as a carpenter then he moved back to LCO remodeling houses and performing all the detail work on each house.

He is survived by his sons Brian Gougé, Bradley Gougé; daughter Karen Gordon; 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; brothers Donald Butler, Louis Gougé; sisters Mary Lou Quagon, Elizabeth Corbine; adopted siblings Brandon, Kim, Chris & Maurice.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents Richard & Hazel; brother Richard Gougé; sisters Marilyn Gougé, Ruthy Gougé & Lizzette "Bubbles" Bourgeois.

A Memorial Gathering was held from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward.
