Franklin Oliver Schmock, age 79, of Signor, WI, died Thursday, January 12, 2023.
Frank was born June 7, 1943, to Franklin and Florence (Ishem) Schmock. Bugger was a longtime resident of Hayward, WI and a Lac Courte Oreilles tribal member.
He graduated from Hayward High School in 1961. In 1963, he joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard with Company B, 724 th Engineer Battalion. Later he joined the active Army. After proudly serving his country in Vietnam, Frank was Honorably Discharged in 1975. Bugger loved to cook. In his early days, he worked at Telemark, Historyland and various other restaurants. Bugger retired from the LCO Casino, where he worked in security. He loved and adored each member of his family and always had a story and a funny joke. As a child, he was very mischievous. However, if you asked him, he was an angel.
He is survived by his daughter Melissa (Chad) Smith, Peru, IN; son Howard (Leann) Schmock, Trego, WI; sister Darlene Johnson, Hayward; brother George (Shirley) Schmock, Staunton, VA; grandchildren Shawn (Tiffany) Hopwood, Kiely (Josh) Wilson, Gordon Root, Lucas (Jaryn) Nethercutt, Kyra Schmock, Allee Nethercutt, Larissa Schmock, Mcale (Shaq) White, Teagan Schmock, Lilli Nethercutt, Gavin Nethercutt; ten great-grandchildren, four nephews and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Charles and Florence May; brother Charlie; brother-in-law Leonard Johnson; nephew Gary Johnson; great-nephew Zachary Johnson; and great-grandsons Preston and Dustin Thayer.
A Celebration of Bugger's life was held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., with a service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 20 th , at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Burial was in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner with military honors accorded by the State of Wisconsin Military Honors Team and LCO AMVETS Post 1998.
