Harold G. Robertson, age 86, of Stone Lake, passed peacefully Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Golden Living-Valley of Hayward with his family by his side.
Harold "Hans" Gordon Robertson was born December 24, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Mile and Viola (Heath) Robertson. He spent several years of his youth near Cable, WI before his family returned to the Milwaukee area. Hans continued his education after high school and was proud to have worked on the US Apollo Space program, taking him to California. After marriage, children, and a life on the lakes of Oconomowoc, WI; Hans and his wife Vivian returned to the Northwoods. Both Hans and Vivian had roots in the Hayward area that beckoned them back, where they resided the remainder of their years.
Hans was an outdoorsman who appreciated a long list of activities including; fishing, hunting, boating, gardening, watersports, snowmobiling and motorcycling. He enjoyed years of beekeeping and shared his bounty of honey with family and friends. Many have also enjoyed the fruits of his winemaking over an evening of conversation and a game of cribbage or chess.
"I hope I have left each of my children and grandchildren useful examples and memories that will benefit them as they continue to walk in this life. Without each of you I would not have been afforded the most important opportunities to be a father or grandfather. I want to recognize my eldest son Skip, my brother George, and my granddaughter Trisha for their extraordinary help and generosity. It is humbling to know I am a part of a great tradition of people and family."
Hans is survived by his son Willard "Skip" (Lillian) Robertson, Steven (Ruby) Robertson both of Hayward, Howard (Lisa) Robertson of Stone Lake; daughters Victoria Robertson of Bristol, IN, Marcella Langenecker of Eau Claire; daughter-in-law Mary Jean Robertson of Jefferson, WI; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; brothers Richard "Duke" Robertson, George Robertson; sisters Margery Robertson Ramlow, Marilyn Robertson Wickman; sister-in-law Ruth Robertson; many nephews & nieces.
