Howard Grant Saltz Jr, age 58, of Hayward, WI, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at his home.

Howard was born February 24, 1965, in Waukegan, IL the son of Howard Grant Saltz Sr. and Carol Jean Colton. He graduated from Grayslake High School in Grayslake. Howard was a very enthusiastic gymnast while in school. He went on to work as an optometrist assistant at Lens Crafters and also enjoyed working as a photographer at Lifetouch for many years. Howard was a kindhearted person and his love for his family was immense. He always looked out for his family and loved going to family gatherings and telling stories. Howard was the oldest of four brothers, but he had a special bond with his only sister. It was rare for them to go a day without talking on the phone. Howard liked to travel and lived in many states throughout his life. Most recently, he moved back home to LCO from California to be closer to his family. His pets were always the most important to him, especially his chihuahua Jake.

He is survived by his sister Linda DeNasha; brothers Jeffery Saltz, Kevin (Raeanna) Saltz; nieces Tanya Kinsland & Michelle Saltz; nephews Robert Saltz Jr., Jimmy Saltz & Kevin Saltz Jr; and his dog and best friend Jake.

Howard was preceded in death by his father Howard Sr.; mother Carol Beaudion; brother Robert Saltz Sr.; uncle Lee Allen Colton; nieces Miranda Barber, Violet Alwes & Tawny Saltz.

A private family gathering will be held.
