Janice Mae Tainter, age 75, of New Post passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024.

Janice was born April 28, 1948, in Hayward, WI the daughter of Alfred and Beatrice (DeMarr) O'Shogay. She loved when her children, grandchildren and family came to the Northland to visit. Janice enjoyed playing bingo with family and friend, family gatherings at the boat landing and was an avid animal lover. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children Gary Tainter Jr., Jason Everson & Alicia Dierks; eight grandchildren, many great grandchildren; sister Cori Dwire; brothers David O'Shogay, Gerald O'Shogay, Darrell O'Shogay & Everett O'Shogay; many nieces & nephews.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband Gary Sr.; parents Alfred & Beatrice O'Shogay; sisters Cynthia Gruntorad & Faith McDonnell; brothers Alfred & Alonzo O'Shogay.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in New Post. Father Karunakar Madanu officiated with music provided by Sister Felissa Zander. Burial was in New Post Cemetery. Visitation began at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 13th at New Post Community Center.

Honorary casket bearers were David O'Shogay Sr., Dean O'Shogay & Gerald O'Shogay.

Casket bearers were Herbert "Buffalo" Clause, Alfred DeMarr, Patrick DeMarr, DJ Miller, Gorman Tainter III & Tom Tainter.
