Obituary

Jay L. Wolfe, age 55 of Big Fork, MN, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN.

Jay Lyndon Wolfe was born September 1, 1959 in Shell Lake, WI, the son of Richard "Dick" and Ida (Quaderer) Wolfe. He graduated high school in Flandreau, SD in 1978. While in high school Jay was selected for the All – American Native marching band as a drummer and had the honor of marching at the halftime Super Bowl festivities. In 1980 Jay accomplished skiing the American Birkebeiner. He attended the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and the University of Minnesota for several years. In 1982 Jay was united in marriage to Vicki Young and they had a daughter Deidre. Jay managed the LCO Bingo Palace and later worked many years for Fisher Nut Company and Warning Light Company both in Minneapolis. In 2005 he moved to Big Fork, MN where he worked as a logger. Jay was a great dad, always making Deidre laugh and playing with her like he was a big kid. He enjoyed walking his dogs, fishing, and running.

He is survived by his daughter Deidre Caldwell; granddaughter Neveah Boyd; grandson Jason Caldwell; brothers Richard (Carol) Wolfe, Douglas Wolfe; sisters Teresa Wolfe, Doreen Wolfe; many nephews, nieces & cousins.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents Dick & Ida, brother Wendell Wolfe, nieces Sarah Wolfe and Lynsey Beaudin.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 11th at Pineview Funeral Service. Rev. Gordon Thayer will officiate with music provided by Sarah Cormell. Burial will be in Whitefish Cemetery. Visitation will be held beginning at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 10th at the funeral home.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Crystal Bradstad, Molly Martinson-Guibord, Kenny Olson, Noah Olson, Skip Olson, Elizabeth Staples, Sean Stout and Scott Stout.

Casket Bearers will be Phil Beaudin, Steve Stout, Bob Wolfe, Brandon Wolfe, Rick Wolfe and Wendell Wolfe Jr.
