Jeffrey 'Jeff' Allan Loverude, 65, passed away on March 22, 2025, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, surrounded by his loving family. While we're heartbroken to say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that he has been welcomed into his heavenly home, where the fishing is endless, the grill is always hot, and the stories never get old.

Born on March 24, 1959, in Minneapolis, MN to the late Gail and Chester Loverude, Jeff lived a life filled with adventure, laughter, and love. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in Duluth, Minnesota, and Grand Forks, North Dakota, but his greatest calling was being a husband, father, Papa, and friend.

Jeff never met a fishing pole he didn't like, a grill he couldn't master, or a story he couldn't stretch just a little bit for dramatic effect. He was a natural storyteller, the kind of guy who could turn a simple fishing trip into an epic tale of man vs. beast.

His kids—Jason (Shavawn), Matthew (Menley), and Nicole (Steven)—grew up with a dad who taught them how to play different sports, but more importantly, how to have fun and more importantly serve God. His siblings, David, Dana, and Mark (Heidi), knew that with Jeff around, life was never boring.

But if there was one thing Jeff loved more than a perfectly grilled venison steak or a peaceful day on the water, it was his wife. Jeff knew he had been given one of life's greatest gifts in Nora.

There was one thing Jeff truly excelled at, it was being Papa to his grandchildren: Alicia "Pearly", Michael "Bubba," Cameron, Mckenzie, Owen "Owie", Reece, Ella, Payton, Daniel, Isla "Lala," Nicholas "Nick Nick," Quinton, Emmy, Oscar and Declan. They were his pride and joy, his partners in crime, and the reason he kept perfecting his storytelling skills (and maybe even exaggerating a little more). He adored them beyond words and made sure they knew they were deeply loved—not just by him, but by the Lord who blessed him with each of them.

Jeff's presence was larger than life, and while we'll miss him terribly, we know he wouldn't want us sitting around feeling sad. So, in his honor, fire up the grill, cast a line, wrestle with your kids, and tell a story that gets just a little better each time you tell it.

A Memorial Service was held at 12:00 noon, Friday, April 4, 2025, at Pineview Funeral Service. Burial was at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI with Military Honors accorded by the Wisconsin Military Honors Team. Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
