Joan M. Kagigebi, age 77, of LCO, died May 27, 2012 at her home.

Joan Margaret was born August 16, 1934 in Hayward, WI the daughter of Larry Sr. & Marie Tainter. She was raised in New Post the oldest of eight children. Joan quit school to take care of her sibling, nieces and nephews. In 1978 she earned her GED and worked at LCO Head Start for over 30 years. Joan loved doing bead work, cooking, knitting going to the Casino, reading Louis L'amour, dancing and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her children Dawn (Richard Scharp) Kagigebi, Richard (Penny) Kagigebi, Larry Kagigebi, Laura (Bernard) Taylor, Linda Kagigebi; 18 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; brother Gary (Jan) Tainter; sisters Darlene (Jim) Cornwell, Marilyn Marlinee, Doris Gokee, Connie (John) Corbine.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, parents Marie & Larry Tainter Sr,, brothers Larry Jr. and Albert Tainter; grandson Richard Brian Winnifred Kagigebi.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2012 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in New Post. Father Gregory Hopeful will officiate with music provided by Sister Felissa Zander. Burial will be in New Post Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31 at New Post Senior Center.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be George Belille, Harvey DeMarr, Gaiashkibos, Bronson Kagigebi, Charles Kagigebi, Darren Kagigebi, Derek Kagigebi, Oakley Kagigebi, Frank Miller Jr., Skylar Taylor and Walter Trepanier.

Casket Bearers will be Jason Fleming, Daniel Gokee, Richard Scharp, William Swehla, Gary Tainter Jr. and Thomas Tainter.
