John Bahe Begay, age 65, of Lac Courte Oreilles, WI, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026.

John was born January 6, 1961, in Midland, MI, the son of Eugene & Bernice (Anderson) Begay. John enjoyed cooking big homemade family meals, carpentry, playing cards and joking around to make people laugh. He was employed through the years as a cook and when he was not in the kitchen he could be found picking Balsam boughs and tanning.

He is survived by his sons Eugene Begay & Duane Begay; daughter Sadie Begay; siblings Cathy Begay, Paula Begay-Hague, Mary "Tish" Begay & Josie Begay; & cousin Arlene Begay.

John was preceded in death by his parents Eugene & Bernice Begay; grandfathers Bahe Begay, Fred Anderson; grandmothers Lucille Begay & Violet Thayer; brothers Daniel Begay & Eugene Begay Jr.; sisters Lynn Begay-Gillespie, Pamela Begay; Mino Giizhik Begay and Pamela Michelle Begay; Uncle Duane & Loretta Begay and Uncle John Anderson.

Traditional Funeral Rites will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 6, 2026, at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward, WI. Zac Earley will officiate.  Burial will be held at Chief Lake Cemetery in Hayward. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Pineview Funeral Services

Honorary casket bearers are Todd Hart, Laramie Jockey & Dan Hart.
