John Dennis Burgan, age 87, of Exeland, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016.
Dennis was born July 20, 1928 in Side Lake, MN, the son of Maurice and Mabel (Stephenson) Burgan. The family moved to Zion, IL in 1944 where Dennis continued his education. After graduation, he served with the Army of Occupation in Japan. On December 24, 1948 he was married to Rose Mary M. Lauby at Sacred Heart Church in Memphis, TN. They returned to Illinois after he completed his education and resided there until 1972, when they moved to Kenosha, WI. After retiring, they settled in their current home in Town of Couderay in 1994.
He is survived by his wife Rose Mary; son Christopher G. (Cynthia) Burgan of Burlington, WI; daughters Johnia D. Burgan of Kansasville, WI, Bonnie S. Spinarski of Menasha, WI and Claudia R. (Dennis) Meyer of Hayward; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; brothers James R. Burgan of Buffalo, MN, Gene M. (Lorraine) Burgan of Exeland; sister Phyllis A. (Ralph) Patty of Patagonia, AZ; ten nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded by his parents; two infant daughters Johnia Darian and Laura Ellen; sister Betty B. (John) Goodman of Waukegan, IL; two nieces.
Private family services were held.
