Kathryn A. Miller, 58, of LCO, died Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Kathryn Ann Miller was born February 20, 1956 in Hayward, WI, the daughter of Francis and Marie (Cloud) Morrow. She attended Kinnamon School and Hayward High School, then attended Mount Scenario College in Ladysmith. Kathy worked various positions over the years and most recently was an advocate with LCO Oakwood Haven. Kathy and Jim Miller were together since 1974 and were married in 1987 in Hayward. She was a first degree Midewewin and belonged to Big Drum Society. Kathy was known for her soup making, especially her Waagagin Soup and also her famous baked beans.
She is survived by her husband Jim Miller; sons Nick (Danielle) Miller, Nate Miller; daughters Tayona (Travis) Paffel, Sierra (Dave Quaderer) Miller; grandchildren Travis Paffel Jr, Whitney Paffel, Gracie Quaderer, Lennen Quaderer; canine buddy Jackson; brother Bill (Rhonda Raines) Morrow; sisters Lori (Arnold) Rice, Dorothy (Darryle) Cooper, Sharon Morrow; uncle George Belille, aunt Evelyn Sharlow; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Darlene Morrow, Carol Jean Morrow; niece Marilu Cooper; aunt Cookie Morrow; uncles Kenny Sharlow and Alex Sharlow.
Tribal Funeral Rites will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Big Drum Ceremonial Center in Lac Courte Oreilles with Jerry Smith officiating. Visitation we begin at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Big Drum Ceremonial Center.
Honorary casket bearers will be George Belille, Darryle Cooper, Kevin Crone, Jackson Miller, Steven Morrow, Tyler Morrow, Travis Paffel, David Quaderer and Kenneth Rice.
Casket bearers will be Erv Cross, Donny Morrow, Dustin Morrow, George "Bud Man" Morrow, Mitch Sharlow and Tony Trepania.
