Lawrence George Pombert, 69, husband, father and grandfather, passed away on July 14, 2011 with his family by his side. Larry was born on October 26, 1941 in Bradley, Illinois to Fredrick and Esther Pombert. He attended Kankakee High School before proudly joining the United States Marine Corp in 1959. After his honorable discharge, he was employed by Armstrong World Industries in Kankakee, Illinois for 34 years and became a master craftsman electrician. Larry and his wife then retired to Wisconsin where he enjoyed being an avid gardener and outdoorsman. He was also a committed Christian and an active member of the Living Faith Church. He was loved by many.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, of Ladysmith, Wisconsin. He is also survived by his four children, Brenda Pombert of Bourbonnais, Illinois, Jeffrey Lawrence Pombert (and wife Gina) of Cumming, Georgia, David Pombert (and wife Jeri) of Monroe, Wisconsin and Jennifer Lovell (and husband Raymond) of Bourbonnais, Illinois, as well as his nine grandchildren, Josiah Pombert, Jenée Pombert, Abigail Pombert, Jeffrey Lawson Pombert, Erika Pombert, Eric Pombert, Ashley Lovell, Briana Lovell and Tyler Lovell. Also surviving are his siblings, sister Ona Marsalli, brother Fred Pombert and sister Penny.

A memorial service will be held in at the Living Faith Church in Exeland, Wisconsin on Tuesday, July 19 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Larry requested donations be made to the church.
