Lola E. Gregory, 93, of Stone Lake, died on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Terraceview Living Center in Shell Lake, WI.
Lola Evelyn was born June 22, 1919 in Earl, WI, the daughter of Reverend Walter and Ida Titus. She graduated from Hayward High School and later went to Miltonvale Wesleyan College in Kansas and then Kansas State Teachers College where she got her teaching degree. While attending Miltonvale, Lola met Phillip Gregory and after three years of teaching they were married. They lived in Stone Lake on a dairy farm for many many years. Lola was devoted to her faith and her heavenly father. She spent most of her adult life teaching Sunday school and working with the Stone Lake Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by sons Paul (Wanda) Gregory of Butte, MT, Edgar (Judy) Gregory of Stone Lake; 6 grandchildren Phillip, Jonathan, Diana Lee, Robert, Scott and Gina; 14 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; brother Paul Titus; sister Eleanor Woelhof and Dorothy Underwood.
Lola was proceeded in death by her husband of 70 years Phillip Gregory; parents Walter and Ida; brothers Clarence, Floyd and Walter Titus.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Stone Lake Wesleyan Church in Stone Lake with Pastor Timothy Young and Rev. Donald Berry officiating, music will be provided by LaVonne Diamond. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Stone Lake in the spring. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
