Obituary

Malita "Ada" Lewis, age 77, of Denver, CO, died Monday, July 29, 2013 at Berkley Manor Care Center in Denver.

Malita Josephine Lewis was born on October 23, 1935 in Hayward, the daughter of Clyde and Violet (Nickence) Miller. She attended Hayward High School and resided many places – White Earth, MN, Pine Ridge, SD, Staten Island, NY and was currently living in Denver. Ada worked many years at the Denver Indian Center Headstart. She loved baking bread, cooking and playing bingo. Ada retired at the age of 65.

She is survived by her daughters Karyl, Dianne, Janet and Cheryl; nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; brothers Philip Miller of Madison, OH, Wilber "Teed" Miller, Richard Miller both of New Post; sisters Bernadette Miller of Denver, Rose Ann Trip of Spooner; several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Ada was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Violet, brother Burleigh Miller and sister Venie Trip.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6 at New Post Community Center with Fr. Gregory Hopefl officiating. Burial will be in New Post Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the community center.

Honorary bearers will be Al Miller, Burleigh Miller Jr., Kenneth Miller, Leroy Miller, Robert Miller and Scott Miller.
