Obituary

Kathleen "Marie" (Boylan) Langham, age 98, of Stone Lake, WI, passed away Thursday, Sept 24, 2015 at Indianhead Medical Center in Shell Lake, WI. Marie was known for her kind words, loving heart, and gentle hugs. The family was blessed with one last celebration of love with Marie on her birthday gathering in Stone Lake.

Marie was born August 9, 19l7 in Sand Lake WI, the daughter of William and Alice (Lavelle) Boylan. She attended Jordan Grade School near Stone Lake WI, two years of high school in Stone Lake and graduated from Hayward High School. She then graduated with a two year teaching degree from Superior Teaching College in Superior, WI. Marie taught at Rainbow School in Hayward, Yarnell, Birchwood, and Hauer schools.

Marie was married to Roger Langham on November 20, 1941 in the St. Philips Catholic Church at Stone Lake. They were married for 60 years.

Marie enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafts, sewing and reading. Marie was a member of many clubs. She was a Hauer 4-H Club leader, a member of the Lake Chetac Homemakers, Stone Lake Historical Society and St. Phillips Altar Society. Marie was honored to be chosen "Homemaker of the Year" by the Sawyer County Homemakers Society and "Women of the Year" by the Stone Lake Cranberry Festival.

Marie loved being with her very large family. She is survived by her sister Isadora (Boylan) Carroll, four sons, Robert Langham (Rolinda), Thomas Langham (Toby), both of Stone Lake, Edward Langham (Pam), of Clayton, WI, Jerome Langham of Barron, WI, two daughters, Evelyn Rohlik (Pat) of Rice Lake, WI, Alice Bertolino (David) of Montreal WI and daughter-in-law, Patty Langham, (wife of James) of Stone Lake. Marie was blessed with seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alice Boylan, her husband Roger, her three brothers, John, Eugene, and Marshal, her son James Langham and one granddaughter Elizabeth (Lizzy) Langham.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30th at St. Phillips Catholic Church in Stone Lake. Father Gregory Hopefl will officiate with music provided by Sister Felissa Zander and Tanya Johnson. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Stone Lake. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Casket bearers will be her grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, in Maries' name, may be sent to Stone Lake Historical Society or St. Phillips Church of Stone Lake, WI.
