Marjorie "Jean" Cody, age 79, of Couderay, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at her home.
Jean was born on March 28, 1936 in Radisson, WI, the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Goodsell) Anderson. She graduated from Winter High School in 1954, and then moved to St. Paul. There she met her late husband, Norman while working at Univac. They were married on June 28, 1958 in Couderay and had four children. In 1973, Jean and her family moved back from St. Paul to Couderay, where they ran the Hitch N' Hoist bar for two years. After that, Jean did a variety of bartending, waitressing, child/elderly care and factory jobs, while raising their children. Jean loved to dance, spend time with family playing cards and dice games, playing slot machines at the casino, and watching a variety of sporting events. Jean would have said that one of the most important purposes she had in life was her seven grandchildren, who she cherished and spent as much time with as she could.
She is survived by her children Bruce Cody of Couderay, Becki (Mike) Shervey of Rice Lake, Brian (Tonia) Cody of Couderay, Bradley (Summer) Cody of Sheldon; grandchildren Joseph & Sarah Shervey, Bradi, Brianna and Barrett Cody, Karleigh & Karter Cody; sisters Elenore "Mitz" (Nick) Boss, Sue Rogers, Sharron (Bob) Biller, Sandy ( Bob) Anderson, Terre (Mike) Sander; brothers Delmar Anderson, Gary (Marsha) Anderson; sister-in-law Chell Anderson.
