Mark Edward Korn, age 71, formally of Eau Claire, WI, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 20, 2025, at his home in Casa Grande, AZ with his significant other of 27 years.
Mark was born September 9, 1953, in Eau Claire, WI, the son of Neil and Dorothy (Ostberg) Korn. He joined the U.S. Army in 1972 and was discharge in 1974. Mark was a business owner for many years whether it was working with his uncle Glen Ostberg or selling cars in Texas and later went on to procuring government contracts. He had several notable achievements awarded to him: Governor's Minority Business of the Year Award and The Business of the Year Award from the American Indian Chamber of Commerce. Mark was nick named "Two Nickel's" as he had the knack of rubbing two nickels together to make a dollar. He lived by the Ojibwe Seven Grandfather Teachings, a system of values that emphasizes love, respect, honesty, courage, truth, wisdom and humility. Mark's love and devotion to his life partner, his admiration for his beautiful daughter, his tenderness for his grandson, and the kindness he extended to friends, family and employees. His love knew no bounds; he accepted it and gave it freely.
He is survived by his life partner Beth Renna; daughter Dorothy Villarreal; grandson Luke Villarreal; sister-in-law June Korn; nephew Terry Korn; great nieces Talitha Korn & Shaylynn Korn great nephews Michael Korn; sister Brenda (Randy) Richter; brother Matthew Skamfer; many other uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces & nephews; his Army Buddies Ralph Nieto & Phillip Sweet, we love you guys.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents Neil & Dorothy; brother Jack Korn; numerous uncles & aunts. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Korn, his nephew who passed away just days apart. Wishing the family strength and comfort through this difficult time.
Tribal Funeral Prayers will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Pineview Funeral Service. Gary Quaderer will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
