Marlene J. Young, age 83, of Hayward, died Friday, October 16, 2015 at Queen of Angels in Radisson, Wisconsin.

Marlene Joan Young was born November 19, 1931 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Claude and Florence (Dwyer) Carlson. She grew up and attended school in Chicago. Marlene moved to Hayward with her family at a young age and worked several years at Phelan Resort. She was united in marriage to Robert Young on May 11, 1956 in Winter, WI. Marlene was a bookkeeper for Carlson Electric for many years. She was a homemaker, she was a collector, was very involved with her family genealogy, and loved her dogs and the wildlife at her home.

She is survived by her 4 nephews & nieces; several great & great great nephew & nieces.

Marlene was preceded by her parents; husband Robert; son Thomas; brother Claude Leroy Carlson.

The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 21st at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward with Gary Hilgendorf officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Casket bearers will be Arnold Carlson, Bert Carlson, Erik Dullinger and Tom Johnson.
