Obituary

Mary L. Bilkasley, age 58, of Hayward, WI died Monday, November 20, 2017 at Kapes Lakeside Assisted Living Center in Siren, WI.

Mary Lou Homesky was born on November 11, 1959 in Hayward, WI the daughter of Philip and Betty (Conger) Homesky. She was raised by her foster parents Clifford & Lillian Nelson. Mary graduated high school in Spooner, then enlisted in the U.S. Navy in March 1980 and served until 1983. After the military she moved to Norfolk, VA where she was united in marriage to Daniel Bilkasley on October 29, 1983. Dan was also in the military and was stationed in Florida, then Sardinia, Italy where they lived for several years. After Dan's military service they returned back to Norfolk, VA. Mary returned to Hayward in 2000.

She is survived by her husband Dan; daughter Katisa Ferguson; three grandchildren Keala, Kylan & Nico; sisters Delores (Marvin) Bowstring, Bertha Sam, Cindie (Cevin) Gauthier, Sheila McShane, Cheryl Homesky, Faith Homesky & Yvonne (Charlie) Lynk Toole; several nephews & nieces.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Philip & Betty; foster parents Clifford & Lillian; brothers Charles "Bud" Homesky, Paul Homesky, Timothy Nelson; sister Darlene Jackson.

Tribal Funeral Rites will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2017 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Steve Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26 th at the funeral home.

Honorary casket bearers will be Matt Carley, Charles Gauthier, Tim Gauthier, Melvin Ogema, Richard Saddler and Bryan Sam.

Casket bearers will be Nathan Bethel, Randy Cadotte, Steve Crone, Mark Irvine, Vernon Nanan and David Roberts.
