Mary L. Quagon, age 77, of Lac Courte Oreilles, died Saturday, July 9, 2022, at her home.

Mary Lou Butler was born February 1, 1945, at Hayward Indian Hospital, the daughter of Hazel Butler. She was a CNA for different nursing homes for many years. Mary then worked for LCO Early Headstart until she retired.

She is survived by her sons Leonard "Tom" Quagon, Lawrence "Larry" Quagon, Daryl Quagon & Duane Quagon; daughters Sylvia Quagon & Susan Quagon; many grandchildren & great grandchildren; brother Donald Butler; many nephews & nieces.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother; son Douglas Quagon; grandson Cody Quagon; and brother Eugene Butler.

Tribal Funeral Rites were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Signor Community Centers. Chato "Ombishkebines" Gonzalez officiated. Burial was in High Bridge Cemetery in Signor. Visitation began at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at Signor Community Center.

Honorary casket bearers were Gary Butler, Tony Butler Sr., Cleo White & Dennis White.

Casket bearers were Brent Dauphinias, Bernek Quagon, Douglas Quagon, Jeremy Quagon, Larry Quagon Jr., Leonard Quagon Jr., Richard Quagon & Dusty Wilber.
