Murl Leon Grover Sr., age 64, of Lac Courte Oreilles, started his journey home Sunday, October 1, 2023.

Murl was born March 2, 1959, in Hayward, the son of Joseph & Pricilla (Thayer) Sharlow. He was raised in New Post where he attended school. Murl proudly served in the US Navy from 1976 – 1979.  He went on to become a diesel mechanic in Milwaukee. After moving back home to LCO Murl worked at the LCO Casino.

He is survived by his wife Candy; sons Murl Jr. (Kayla) & Michael; daughter Michelle; many grandchildren; brothers Joe & Leland; sisters Anita & Rosie; many nephews & nieces.

Murl was preceded in death by his parents; step-father Mousey Besoni; brothers Shawn, Wendell & Michael.

The Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023, at New Post Community Center. Rev. Gary Hilgendorf officiated. Burial was in New Post Cemetery. Military Honors were accorded by the LCO AmVETs Post #1998. Visitation began at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 4th at New Post Community Center.

Honorary casket bearers were Russell Brownrigg Sr., Leland Hall, Ernie Sharlow Sr., Murl Grover Jr., Murl Grover III & Pamelia Sharlow.

Casket bearers were Jake Jones, Jamie Jones, Ron Ramzcyk, Ernest Sharlow Jr., Ameesio Sharlow & Sparky.
