Myrna E. Cowan, age 88, of Hayward, formerly of Freeport, IL, lover of gardening, wildlife, and all animals, passed away of a heart attack Sunday, April 30, 2017 at her home with her husband Frank of 50 years by her side.

Myrna Eileen was born July 11, 1928 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Frank and Elsa Samel. She graduated from Freeport Senior High School and was a legal secretary for many years. At this time of year she was always busy getting her gardens ready for summer at her home on Lac Courte Oreilles. I'll miss you. Via con Dios.

She is survived by her loving husband Frank Cowan; sons Brian Lake, Jim Blask, Randy (Lori) Blask; daughter Cindy (Scott) Jensen; stepson Perry (Martha) Cowan; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister Gloria (Rudy) Barabas; niece Deanna Durham; nephew Gregory (Joyce) Barabas.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law; one grandson.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
