Nolan Allan Trotterchaude, age 16, of LCO, died Saturday, June 27, 2026.
Nolan was born on August 31, 2009 in Cloquet, MN, the son of Nicholas Adam Trotterchaude and Bertha Renee Billyboy.
Nolan was a humorous person who loved making everyone laugh. His spirit was bright and freeing, and he was rarely seen without his signature braids tucked beneath one of his favorite hats. He lived on the LCO reservation most of his life. There was never a dull moment when he reunited with his siblings, and he cherished being a loving uncle to his nephew, Leon. He always looked forward to visiting his family in Fond du Lac, Minnesota, where he had a blast every time.
Some of Nolan's favorite pastimes included riding ATVs and dirt bikes, playing basketball, and spending time playing video games. As a child, he loved dancing in his regalia and proudly served as a Junior Brave for LCO. Like his dad, he was never afraid to let loose and dance with joy, bringing smiles to everyone around him.
Nolan's smile, just like his mom's, could light up an entire room. He enjoyed fishing and going for drives, and even moments of quiet were meaningful to him as long as he was surrounded by the people he loved. His presence alone brought comfort and happiness to those around him. He was a dedicated student with a passion for woodworking. Nolan worked at McDonald's for two years before recently beginning work in construction as he pursued a new path for his future. Nolan will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his laughter, kind heart, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him
He is survived by sisters Alize Pierre and Isabelle Trotterchaude; brother’s Nathan Billyboy, Nicholas Trotterchaude Jr, and Niino Trotterchaude; Younger sisters Skye & Starr; Nephew Leon Pierre; aunt Phyllis Billyboy; Uncle Gary Butler; many cousins and friends.
Nolan was proceeded in death by his mother Bertha Billyboy; father Nicholas Trotterchaude grandparents Laura Billyboy, Aunt Joann Billyboy.
