Preston S. Thayer, age 27, of LCO died on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at University of Minnesota Medical Center Fairview in Minneapolis.

Preston Scott was born October 7, 1987 in Hayward, WI, the son of Walter "Joe" Thayer and Georgette Martinez. He grew up and attended school in Drummond, graduating in 2007. Preston was an artist, he loved drawing and doing art. He enjoyed Friday night fish fry with his Grandpa Frank and brother Dustin, loved his candy, and loved his car that Grandpa Frank bought for him. Preston loved and planned on marrying his finance Emily Zimit. He really enjoyed living life and being around family and friends.

He is survived by his father Walter "Joe" Thayer; mother Georgette Martinez; Fiancé Emily Zimit; brothers Joseph Thayer, Robert Thayer, Francisco Martinez; sisters Darla Thayer, Heather Grover, Yvette Thayer, Desirea Thayer, Natalie Martinez; grandparents Frank & Barb Schmock; many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Preston was proceeded in death by his sister Anna Thayer; brother Dustin Thayer; grandparents Walter Thayer Sr. and Marie Thayer.

Tribal Funeral Rites will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, August 30th at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward, officiated by Lee Staples. Burial will be in New Post Cemetery. Visitation will be held beginning at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29th at the funeral home.

Honorary casket bearers will be Rita "Goo" Barber, Ethan Bean, Vanessa Blackdeer, Carole DeMain, Catrina White, Greg Zimit and Laura Zimit.

Casket bearers will be Shannon Jack Jr., Stephan Milam, Monty Smith, Koonse Thayer, Dave White and Skylar Zimit.
