Obituary

Raymond R. Rynda, age 87, of Radisson, WI died Friday, June 1, 2018 at Ladysmith Care and Rehab.

Raymond Richard Rynda was born April 3, 1931 in Radisson, the son of Charles and Dorothy (Shephard) Rynda. He attended school in Radisson and graduated from Winter High School. In 1949 Ray enlisted in the US Army and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1956. Ray was united in marriage to Phyllis Spies on October 11, 1952. He worked as a CPA for most of his career. Prior to retirement Ray drove school bus for the Winter School District. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus for several years, earning his 4 th Degree in 1975.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis; children Susan Stewart, Debra Ewert (Steve), Ann Marie (Randy) Thompson, Elizabeth (Bob) Nichols, Amy Rynda, Raymond (Sheri) Rynda II, Daniel (Sue) Rynda and Kathleen Rynda; 25 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Mary Zink; several nephews & nieces.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Dorothy; brothers Ted and Fran Rynda.

A Memorial Mass was held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Radisson. Father Jerome D'Souza  officiated with music provided by Kris Rankin and Mary Ann Kernan. Burial was in Radisson Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Winter American Legion Post #303. Visitation was held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, prior to Mass at the church.

Casket bearers were Zachary Bechtel, Lance Ewert, Mike Nichols, Charlie Rynda, Ray Rynda III, Bill Stewart and Adam Thompson.
