Richard E. Hansen, age 70, of Hayward, died Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Water's Edge Care Center in Hayward.
Richard Earl Hansen was born in Racine, WI on December 18, 1942, the son of Harold and Emily (Schmidt) Hansen. He grew up in Racine and graduated from Park High School. Richard served in the US Army from 1964–1967. Richard was united in marriage to Doris Sartor on June 24, 1967 in Racine. He worked for J.I. Case until 1972 before owning his own business, Service Grinding and Supply Co, Inc. Richard and Doris moved to Hayward in 1975 and he semi retired in 2007.
He is survived by his wife Doris; son Paul Hansen; daughter-in-law Julie Hansen; foster daughter Yoshiko Yokoya; brothers Robert Hansen, Jay Hansen; sister Joyce Bruhn.
Richard was preceded in death by his father Harold; mother Emily Hetzel; step-father Ken Hetzel; brother Edward Hansen.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward.
In lieu of flowers memorial may directed to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 411 Second Street NW, Rochester, MN 55901.
