Obituary

Richard Earl Miller Sr., age 81, of New Post, WI, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

Richard was born July 16, 1944, in Hayward, WI, the son of Clyde and Violet (Nickence) Miller. After high school he served in the United States Army from October 6, 1962 – October 14, 1965, and then in the Reserves from 1965-1968. Richard was united in marriage to Mary Cloud on October 4, 1968. He worked several odd jobs before working at the Hayward Bus Company for 10 years. Richard then worked for General Telephone Company for 15 years operating heavy equipment. After that he worked for LCO & Namekagon Transit until his retirement in August of 2024. Richard will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife Mary; sons Scott (Phyllis) Miller & LeRoy (Roberta) Miller; grandchildren Cody, Jacob, Ashleigh, Stephany, Richard & Michael; great grandson Cedar; nieces & nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; sons Dustin Miller & Richard "Babe" Miller Jr; sister Ada; brother Wilbur "Teed" Miller; grandson Jordan Miller.

The Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at New Post Community Center. Father Karunakar Madanu officiated. Burial was in New Post Cemetery. Military Honors were accorded by LCO AMVETS Post #1998. Visitation began at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7th at New Post Community Center.

Honorary casket bearers were Don Carley; grandchildren Cody Miller, Jacob Miller, Ashleigh Miller, Stephany Miller, Richard Miller & Michael Miller; great grandson Cedar Miller.

Casket bearers were Gary "Lil Guy" Clause, Erv Cross, Tim DeBrot, Burleigh Miller, Tom Tainter & Matt White.
