Rita St. John, age 67, of Hayward died Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at her home.

Rita was born on September 12, 1950 in Sulphur Springs, Montana the daughter of Joseph and Marie (King) St. John.

She is survived by her son Gary "Bay" Quaderer Jr.; daughters Christian Quaderer; Wabanung (Greg) Boss, Ariana Barber, Rita "Nigoue" Barber; 18 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sister Shannon Staples; brothers Marvin Staples Jr. & Shane Staples.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Dancing Star Barber; grandson Brett Barber-Olson; and brother Ronald Staples.

Tribal Funeral Rites was held 10:00 a.m., Sunday October 29, 2017 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward with Skip Churchill officiating. Burial was in Whitefish Cemetery. Visitation began at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the funeral home.

Honorary casket bearers were Jacob Boss, Cynthia Carmicle, Richard Denomie Sr., James Fleming Jr., Cameron Olson, Trenton Quagon, Iva Rasmusson and Aanakwad Redix.

Casket bearers were Andrew Barber, Dan Barber, Daniel Grover, Josh LaRush, Keenan Quaderer and Steve Stout.
