Robert Doyle Abott, age 75, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026, in Couderay, Wisconsin.

Bob (Robert) Abbott, born March 02, 1950, in Waukegan, Illinois the son of Orin "Bud" Doyle and Ruth June Abbott. Bob was a proud United States veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War. His service reflected the strength, loyalty, and quiet courage that defined his character throughout his life. He had many jobs over the years, but he was most proud of his work as a heavy equipment operator. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Gayela Abbott, and a steadfast friend to many. Bob was the kind of man who was always there when someone needed help — whether it was a listening ear, a steady hand, or the right tool for the job. He was loving and full of life, with a playful spirit and an unpredictable streak that kept everyone around him smiling and on their toes. He had a deep respect for nature and treasured the environment and all animals. Being outdoors brought him peace, and he cared deeply about the land he loved. Bob also had a passion for working with his hands. He spent countless hours tinkering on cars and boats, always surrounded by tools and projects. Even in his later years, he still had big plans for the future and looked ahead with determination and hope. Bob will be remembered for his loyalty, his generosity, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Gayela, dear friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

He is survived by his wife Gayela (Culp) Abbott; sons Josiah and Micaiah (Kaceey) Schneider; daughters DeAnna Lynn McNish and Danna (Angelo) Muna; many grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Bob (Robert) is preceded in death by his parents; Orrin and Ruth Abbott; brothers, Rick and Edward "Paul" Abbott; and his sister, Karen Gruber.

Military Honors and Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin. Rev. Brent Berkesch will officiate.
