Robert A. Christopher, age 85, of Hayward, WI died Palm Sunday, March 29, 2015 following an automobile accident.
Robert Allan Christopher was born November 2, 1929 in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Jack and Helen (Teahan) Christopher. He attended Loyola High School in Los Angeles, one year at Loyola University and two years at Sawyers Business College. Bob joined the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War where he was stationed in Japan.
Bob worked as an administrator at several nursing homes including Cypress Manor in Sunland, CA, Rehabilitation Center in Los Angeles, and Prather Methodist Nursing Home in Alameda, CA. He later worked at New United Motors in Fremont, CA.
Bob was united in marriage to Karen on February 6, 1993 in Tuscaloosa, AL. Upon retirement they moved to the Hayward area in 2001 and became members of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Bob was an avid bridge player and reader. He enjoyed square dancing, delivering Meals on Wheels, and was passionate about politics.
He is survived by his wife Karen; children Michael Patrick (Sally Sue), Dennis James (Debbie) & Casey John (Lisa), Cheryl Ann (Matthew) Diederich; step-children Lawrence Gresk, Scott Aultman, Jana (Dale) Glover, Amy (Lester) Smith, Brenda (Mark) Henry, Elaine (Regis) McGrath; 20 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces & cousins.
Bob was preceded by his parents and brothers Jack and Tom.
A private service celebrating Bob's life will be held in California by his family and friends at a later date. Interment will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
