Robert Zahn, age 91, of Loretta, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.

Robert "Rob" Zahn was born February 22, 1925 in Sheboygan, WI, the son of Christian and Maria (Gossman) Zahn. He attended Jefferson Grade School and Central High School in Sheboygan. Rob served in the United States Army from 1943 – 1946, receiving the American Theater Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal 44. He worked in the United States Post Office, retiring in 1985. Rob was united in marriage to Sophie Behrens in June 1, 1985.

He is survived by his wife Sophie; sons Clyde (Angie) Zahn, Daniel Zahn; daughters Naomi (Lyle) Holthaus, Kathryn (Duane) Gross, Patricia Zahn; step-daughters Victoria (Ron) Behrens-Hout and Christine Chase; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; half-brother Dick Zahn; half-sisters Trina (Del) Penna, Christine Lemanski; many nephews & nieces.

Rob was preceded by his parents; first wife Lois Jean; brothers Albert Zahn, Leo Zahn, Arthur Zahn.

The Funeral Service were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2015 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Loretta with Pastor Terri Blomberg officiating. Music was provided by Kris Rankin. Burial was in Lutheran Cemetery in Sheboygan, WI. Visitation was held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 2 prior to the service at the church.

Casket bearers were Caley Zahn, Michael Zahn, Adam Gross, Mark Gross, John Holthaus, Joseph Holthaus, Barry Lay and Justin Chase.
