Rose M. Thayer, age 81, of Ashland, WI died Friday, October 6, 2017 at her home.

Rose Marie Thayer was born in Hayward, WI the daughter of Richard and Gladys (DeNasha) Thayer. She grew up in New Post and graduated from Hayward High School. After high school Rose was married to Charles Quagon. She was a heath unit secretary for Hayward Hospital where she worked for 21 years. Rose also worked for the LCO Health Clinic for many years, working for the WIC Program and as an optometrist assistant. She was also a foster grandparent for many children over her years and Rose loved to play her slot machines.

She is survived by her son Richard Hollen, Scott Quagon, Rodney Quagon, Darrin Quagon; daughters Linda Hollen, Sharon Cloud and Robin Tainter; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; son Barry Hollen; daughter Jeanine Thayer; sister Sylvia Bumatay; and son-in-law Bill Tainter.

A Memorial Service was held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Father Gregory Hopefl officiated. Visitation was held from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
