ROY WILLIAM SAUNDERS
Roy W. "Bill" Saunders, age 73 of Hayward, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2012 at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN.
Roy was born on August 11, 1938 in Pekin, IL, the son of Roy and Lillian Saunders. He attended school in Pekin before enlisting in the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served his country earning many awards and commendations. Roy worked with Commonwealth Edison in Central Illinois until retiring to Hayward in 1993.
Roy loved to fish, hunt, and tell amazing stories. He was an excellent marksman and an even better friend. The works of Frank Sinatra, "I did it my way", could be used to best describe him.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Lillian Saunders.
Roy will be deeply missed by his family, friends and loved ones.
Inurnment will take place at a later date.
