Russell “Rusty” Corbine, age 73 of LCO, died Friday, May 22, 2026.

Russell was born on June 12, 1952, in Hayward (Skunawong), the son of Maurice and Bernice (Barber) Corbine. He grew up in Lac Courte Oreille and he attended St. Francis and graduated from Hayward High School in 1970. Russell continued his education with MATC program and LCO College. Russell married Anita Hall in May of 1987 and began building their family while working for LCO Development and LCO Housing where he was the electrician/ Maintenance man before retirement. It was very evident Russell was all about his family and loved being a Papa to his 5 grandchildren, they were his light.

He is survived by his wife Anita (Hall) Corbine; son: Russell (Selena) Corbine; daughters: Darlene (Jason) Corbine, and Paula (Robert) Thayer.; grandchildren; Kenny Corbine, Giiziis Corbine, Alizeya Corbine, Maxine Thayer, and Mary Thayer; brothers Wilbur “Johnny Boy” (Connie) Corbine, Marvin (Dorrie) Corbine, Duane Corbine; sisters Selma Corbine and Elaine (Ed LaRush) Corbine; many nephews and nieces.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents; son Oliver; daughter Maxine; brothers Maurice “Mack” Corbine and Rodney Corbine Sr.; sister Cheryl Corbine; and nephew Jeremie LaRush.

Tribal Funeral Rites will be held beginning with a feast at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Pineview Funeral Service, Hayward. Chato “Ombishkebines” Gonzalez will officiate. Burial will be in New Post Cemetery following service. Visitation will begin at Sundown, on Monday May 25, 2026, at Pineview Funeral Service.

Honorary casket bearers will be Donald Bideau Jr., Leon Corbine, Loren Mustache, Brian Delapast, Tom Carley, John Cooper, Keith Quaderer and Steve Quaderer.

Casket bearers will be Jason Larush, Jamie Thomas, Michael “Mikey” DeMain, Mitch Sharlow, Robert Thayer, and Kyle Barber.
